NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Commissioners of the Town of New London adopted a Resolution and will hold a public hearing to consider closing a portion of Ivey Avenue in the existing municipal boundaries. The legal description of the property is as follows:

Being that portion of Ivey Avenue shown on that plat of W. M. Ivey, according to Plat Book 2, page 57, Stanly County Registry, which runs from the northern terminus of Ivey Avenue in a southerly direction to the end of its border with the land of Richard and Mitzi Almond, and being more particularly described as follows:

The POINT OF BEGINNING being the northernmost corner of Lot 34 and running with the eastern boundary of Lots 28 through 34 to the southeast corner of Lot 34.  Thence running N. 61-15 E., crossing Ivey Avenue, to a point in the western line of Lot 80.  Thence turning and running with the western margin of Lots 80 through 82 319.5 feet to a point.  Thence turning and running in a northwesterly direction with the southern margin of the land of Nehemiah Parah to the POINT OF BEGINNING.

The hearing will be at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 5th in the New London Community Center, 114 W. Gold St., New London, NC 28127.

The general public and interested individuals are hereby notified to attend if they have comments.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Commissioners of the Town of New London adopted a Resolution on February 5, 2019 and will hold a public hearing to consider closing a portion of Coggins Road in the municipal boundaries. A request has been filed pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 160A-299 by H.W. Culp Lumber Company to permanently close an approximately 2,515 feet portion of Coggins Road also known as State Road 1442. The legal description is listed below:

“Beginning at the intersection of Coggins Road and US 52 Highway N and continuing approximately 2,515 feet to a point in Coggins Road (State Road Number 1442) at the eastern boundary of the tract owned by H.W. Culp Lumber Company (Book 1081, Page 757, Stanly County Registry). This section of Coggins Road is bounded by H.W. Culp Lumber Company on the northwest (Book 1650, Page 247, Stanly County Registry) and H.W. Culp Lumber Company on the southwest (Book 1649, Page 449, Stanly County Registry) and by J.T. Russell and Sons, Inc. on the southeast (Deed Book 366, Page 840 and Deed Book 561, Page 410, Stanly County Registry).”

The public hearing will be at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 5th in the New London Community Center, 114 W. Gold St., New London, NC 28127.
